Website Building - How it works. On this page you will learn how our website building service works and an approximate time line of events. The beginning To have your website building process started you must first choose your domain name and check that it is available. We will buy the domain name for you as part of the package and if it is a .co.uk domain name we will include it in the package costs. We will require the details you wish to be made public on the nominet register or if it is to be a non commercial site then we will choose the privacy option for you. Nominet is the Internet registry for .uk domain names and makes available the details of the ownership of .uk domain names amongst other things. If you site is to be a commercial site then details such as your name or companies name address and contact number are required for registration if you site is personal website then such details we not be made available via the whois searches. By using our services to create your website our team will handle the registration of your domain name for you, provided we are able to purchase the name for you. PLEASE CONTACT US REGARDING YOUR DOMAIN NAME IF HIGH SEARCH POSITIONS ARE REQUIRED. The domain name is an important part of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) if you contact us we will explain why. Domain registration takes about 24-48 hours, because we have an account already this is sometimes speeded up for us - but not always. .co.uk names are registered for two years under our package after that the renewal cost must be met by you. Other domain names may cost more and be registered for a shorter original period, contact us for more details. Hosting Once we have bought your domain name for you we will set up and hosting account - more details of the package you will be on can be found here. The hosting account will be set up in minutes of us registering your .co.uk domain name. After 12-24 hours we will be able to change the DNS (designated named servers) over from the registrants ones to ours. The DNS in simplistic terms tell the internet where you site is hosted, much the same as an area code tells the telephone system which exchange your telephone number can be found on. Your first years hosting is included in the package free of charge after that we charge as little as £5 a year for hosting. Remember we do all of this for you - you need do nothing. Building the Website Whilst we are taking care of all the technical side of things you will be able to email the text content for your web pages, and the number and names of the pages you require. You will also be asked for any email address you require and whether you require auto-responder emails and forwarders. We will also build the contact form for and source any telephone numbers you might require such as 0800 or 0844 which will sit on your own home or office phone number. N.B. you will be liable for any charges incurred whilst using these numbers contact us for more details. Any photo's you would like place on the site will also have to be emailed over to us in jpg format. This process takes as long as you make it - the quicker we receive the content; the quicker we can build. The basic structure of the site cannot be changed i.e. the main colors for the banner and menu backgrounds all the rest can be altered within reason. Meta Tags Once all the site's content has been received and the web pages constructed we then build the "meta tags" and check the pages for both keyword relevance and saturation. This will take about a day. Submitting the site for indexing by Google and Yahoo Once both of us are happy we will install stat reporting codes on every page and then submit the site for indexing. We verify the site by meta tag using our own Google account and the submit the URL to the search engines and request indexing. You can only request that any website be accepted for indexing, you cannot force any search engine to accept a website. Indexing means that the site will appear in search results for keywords entered by people looking for websites containing the info they require. Anyone who knows the URL from a hosted site can go directly to the site without having to search for it. Indexing takes anything from two to six weeks - we have no control over this and nor does anyone else despite any claims to the contrary. Changes to site We will allow minor changes to the site - though not whilst waiting for the site to indexed - should you require your websites pages to updated on a regular bases then we do offer a maintaining service which you'd might like to subscribe to.
